99.75 ATAR & 97 in Ecoomics

Hi I’m Beatrice! I graduated from Abbotsleigh with a 99.75 ATAR and achieved internal ranks of 1st in Economics, 2nd in Physics, 6th in Chemistry, 13th in English Advanced, and HSC marks of 97 in Extension 1 Maths and 95 in Extension 2 Maths.\

If I’m honest, studying doesn’t have to be something you dread, but instead can be fun and rewarding when you figure out exactly how to study.

I didn’t always know how to study though. And I still have things I need to figure out as I go into university. There is no one size fits all, but hopefully this article can give you some insight into what worked for me in my HSC year.

TIP 1: HAVE FAITH IN YOURSELF!

One time at dinner, my dad told me you can only succeed if you believe you will. Even if others tell you they believe in you, those words don’t mean as much as if you genuinely believe in yourself too.

I didn’t completely understand this at the time, but I do now. When I first began the HSC journey, I wanted to do well but never thought getting the ATAR I achieved was possible. As Year 12 progressed and I witnessed my marks improve, I realised my hard work was paying off and I really began to believe in myself.
