How to Approach Your Final Term in Year 11, from a 99+ ATAR Graduate

If I could pass some advice to my Year 11 self, here's what I'd say.

I still remember packing my bags the night before my final term of Year 11 at NSB. Unlike years and terms past, this time felt different. It felt like I was standing at a crossroads: excited to be starting my final year of high school soon, but slightly terrified at the same time.

Hi, I’m Jason, and I graduated from North Sydney Boys High School in 2021 (yes, I was a COVID grad). I wasn’t a stellar student in Year 11. My rank was pretty bad for some subjects, but that’s a story for another time.

So given that I finished with a 99+ ATAR, I’d like to think I made an academic comeback. 

If I could talk to younger me, I’d tell him that the final term of Year 11 is VERY important - not because it will count towards my ATAR, but because it’s a crucial milestone for self-reflection.
