Introduction
So far in Chemistry Module 1 and Module 2, we have been building upon the chemical reactions which we learnt in Stage 5, applying them to new situations and performing calculations. Module 3, Reactive Chemistry, is where we will expand ourselves into the depths of new chemical reactions, rates of reactions and much more. Notably, we will cover the reduction-oxidation reaction, also known as the REDOX reaction.
Fun fact, the REDOX reaction drives the function of the lithium batteries we use everyday!
We will also take a deep dive into what occurs between particles at a microscopic level during reactions, what allows reactions to happen, and how we can use that knowledge to our advantage to influence the rate of chemical reactions.

What happens during a chemical reaction?
In Module 2, we learnt about the conservation of matter:
Matter cannot be created or destroyed, only transferred or transformed.Â
In chemical reactions, our reactants transform into products through the rearrangement, also known as the breaking and reformation of bonds between atoms.
